How Olight saved my life
My Olight story started about a year ago when I was looking for a bright torch to use for my work as a paramedic. I chose the Olight M2R Warrior Pro as it
was bright, compact and I can use the tailcap switch for both turbo and strobe mode.
A couple of months ago I had an issue with my light that I thought might be the cell and ended up sending it back to Olight for warranty assessment. Thankfully Olight were excellent and replaced the torch promptly allowing me to use it on my next nightshift.
I was dispatched to a "non-violent" mental health call in the middle of the night and as I got out of the ambulance I heard the front door of the house open but nobody came out through the screen door. From about 20m out I lit up the door with my Olight on Turbo mode which threw enough light that I could clearly see through the screen door and the large knife that the person on the other side was holding as they started opening the screen door.
I'm sure they were just coming out to say hi but I didn't wait around to find out. I shined my M2R in their face, hit the strobe mode and beat a hasty retreat back to my ambulance and left.
I have no doubt that if I hadn't had my Olight on me that day then I would have made it all the way to the doorway before things got spicy and so I am ever greatful that I chose Olight and that their customer service got my torch back to me in record time.
I now wear my Olight on my belt at work both day and night so it never leaves my side.
